During a June 1977 jump of the Concho River in San Angelo, Texas,
Janet Lee hit the other side so low that she missed crashing
into the supports of the landing ramp and hit the the riverbed
below instead, a differential that spared her life. Cycle jumping
lost a young star, but Torrance, California gained an ace karate
teacher. |
